They called him Project Crocodylus-9 , but the survivors who glimpsed him in the murk simply whispered “White Fang.” Forged from recovered military chassis and bio-synthetic scales , he was never meant to be beautiful. Yet the engineers could not resist the elegance of the ancient predator. Thick hydraulic cables coiled around his neck like living tentacles. A monomolecular blade extended from his right forearm , still dripping with the condensation of the deep. White Fang did not sleep. He patrolled the drowned metro tunnels , the collapsed skyscrapers now coral reefs of rust and data. His orders were simple: protect the last dry habitats above from the things that crawled out of the black water—mutated predators , rogue drones , and the desperate scavengers who would rather steal than starve. One night the seismic sensors screamed. Something massive was tearing through the lower sectors , something older and hungrier than the city’s ghosts. White Fang dropped from a vertical shaft into the flooded atrium of what had once been a shopping mall. His claws locked onto the tiled floor. The blade hummed to life. From the darkness rose a creature of pure black alloy and rotting flesh , a failed prototype from the same labs that birthed him. It lunged. White Fang met it mid-charge. Sparks and water exploded. The monomolecular edge carved glowing lines through the enemy’s armor. Cyan lights flared along his chest as combat subroutines ignited. He moved with the cold precision of a machine and the savage joy of the animal whose shape he wore. When it was over , the black thing floated in pieces among the drifting plastic bags and dead lights.
